- all of October 2010: Adamant about applying to Summer Project - figured it wasn't for me and that it wasn't the right timing
- November 1, 2010: Realized that God completely changed my heart - and started my Ocean City Summer Project application (7 pages long, mind you)
- November 13, 2010: Hit the "submit" button on the application - and so began the waiting game
- December 28, 2010 - January 1, 2011: San Diego Winter Conference! This is Campus Crusade for Christ's Conference for the Southwest Region. I got baptized in the Pacific Ocean on New Year's Eve here :) Pretty amazing. Being around Crusade College students, like myself, got me even more excited about the possibility of going on Project!
- January 25, 2011: Received an email from one of the directors on project, Kim, who informed me that I had been accepted to go on Project this Summer along with over one hundred other college students.
- January 28, 2011: Replied back to Kim letting her know that I accepted the invitation! In the days leading up this, I don't think I have ever prayed so much!
In the past month, not too much has happened. I have been focusing on staying on top of paperwork - and most importantly, initiating support raising! Speaking of support, today I am writing the first of my support letters. I am going to reference my blog in the letters I send out so that those who are interested can follow me through this process!
A few other things about this blog -
I am hoping to update this blog about once a week. Now that there's less than 3 months before I leave, there is bound to be a lot more activity!
I will end every entry with a Bible verse. One that has either helped me or given me insight for something - or one that I a hoping will help me get through the next week :)
Please know that every time I compose an entry, I am not distracted. I swear I'm not sitting in front of the television or in class writing these. I will more likely than not be in Bidwell Perk - the coffee shop I work in :)
Coming up next....
In my next entry, I am hoping to share with everyone my testimony - basically dictating how I got where I am today in my faith. I think that it is a very personal thing to be typing out and sharing on the internet - so it might be a little weird. But at the same time, knowing my testimony is very important in understanding what drove me to want to go on Project this summer!
The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7
